The fifth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, an American reality TV show, premiered on November 18, 2014, on Bravo. The show was mostly shot in Beverly Hills, California, whereby Barrie Bernstein, Andrew Hoegl, Andy Cohen, Pam Healy, and Lisa Shannon served as executive producers.
The season consists of 23 episodes and sees the return of the Richards, Brandi Glanville, Yolanda Foster, Lisa Vanderpump, as well as two new cast members: Eileen Davidson, an actress married to Vincent Van Patten, a former tennis player, and Lisa Rinna, a model, and actress married to Harry Hamlin.
Both original housewives Kim and Glanville left the show at the end of the season.
Foster fights Lyme disease with the help of Glanville, with whom she becomes closer. Vanderpump and Kyle still deal with the fallout from the previous season, which causes them to clash, and the two newcomers bond straight away due to their shared experiences in Hollywood.
With that in mind, we will take a look at the show’s top casts, season five summary, and the best episodes of the season.
For the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, five of the seven wives from season four returned. Season five featured the introduction of two new housewives, Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna, following the departure of the two housewives, Carlton and Giraud. The season also saw the guest appearances of the former cast members Adrienne Maloof, Camille Grammer, and Taylor Armstrong.
Davidson was born in Artesia, a city in southeast Los Angeles County, California. At the age of twenty-one, she pursued acting and rose to prominence in the now-cult classic, The House on Sorority Row. She also had appearances in Broken Badges and Eternity. However, Davidson’s most well-known performances are Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless and Kristen DiMera on Days of Our Lives. After three nominations, she went on to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for her play of Kristen DiMera.
Rinna was born in Newport Beach, California, but raised in Medford, Oregon. She later returned to California to pursue a career as a model in San Francisco. Rinna changed careers several years after modeling and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She scored her first television job in The Hogan Family and was eventually featured in Baywatch. She is also a daytime actress best known for her appearances as Taylor McBride on Melrose Place and Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives.
Kyle opens season five of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills by preparing her annual white party, which has become an event of the year in Beverly Hills. Vanderpump is still suspicious of her former close pals after an abrupt departure from Puerto Rico at the end of season four, while Brandi is fighting to overcome her own pain. Kyle’s lavish event, which also reunites original Beverly Hills housewives Maloof, Camille, and Armstrong, brings the ladies face-to-face.
Kim and several movers assist Glanville with her move, but Brandi is more interested in the boys’ abs than in unloading boxes. Kim’s sister and her family take a private plane to Lake Tahoe, while Foster surprises David with a very special and very revealing meal. Kim and Brandi celebrate their friendship by dressing up as spies to spy on J.R, Glanville’s ex-boyfriend.
Vanderpump invites Rinna to see her receive a plaque on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars and the two Lisas bond. Kyle is worried that her coughing sister Kim will make her sick before they leave on a family holiday to Spain. But everything is perfect when Kyle arrives in Mallorca and boards her luxury yacht. Foster joins Kim’s sister for a day of fun and sightseeing in the lovely town, but the vacation is disrupted when she receives a phone call with devastating news regarding Bella, her daughter.
Kyle goes home early from Spain to attend her niece’s wedding, while Eileen returns to The Young and the Restless after a long absence to resume her role as Ashley Abbott. Meanwhile, the two Lisas receive a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars while Yolanda deals with her daughter’s DUI aftermath at her house.
Brandi’s housewarming event has arrived, and everyone is surprised when an unexpected guest arrives. Rinna joins Access Hollywood Live as a guest host while Eileen tries out a new kind of exercise. Kyle discovers that her daughter still has a lot to learn before leaving for college. Vanderpump is hosting a charity event at PUMP, and Glanville offers her an odd proposition.
