Panera Bread is known for its fast and flavorful meals made with real ingredients. It offers a constantly evolving menu, including impressive and creative breakfast dishes. It’s a great place to get something to start your day, grab a snack on the go, and even offer low-carb keto options. However, not all dishes at Panera are created equal. I’ve had some memorable meals there, but also some that I wouldn’t recommend. In this post, I’ll share my top picks and my least favorite Panera breakfast dishes and drinks to help you make sure you love every bite of your meal.
About Panera Bread
Panera Bread® is among the most beloved fast-casual restaurants in the United States. The chain is mainly known for its soft, artisan bread and pastries, freshly baked on-site. It is a popular destination for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Their menu includes classic, comforting dishes like sandwiches, soups, pastries, salads, drinks, and more-each with an intriguing twist. The bakery shelves are always filled with a variety of tasty options.
The breakfast menu includes parfaits, sandwiches, fruit cups, baked egg souffles, oatmeal, coffee, hot tea, and hot chocolate. You can also get bagels and spreads, pastries and sweets for one or a group, scones, muffins & muffs, espresso bar items, and filters. Other sandwiches include sausage, scrambled egg & cheese on an asiago bagel.
The cafe that I frequently visit is located at 399 Nesconset Highway, Hauppauge, NY 11788, and is open seven days a week. From Monday to Friday, they’re open from 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday, they close at 9:00 PM. They have dine-in, take-out, and no-contact delivery options for customers looking for an easy and convenient way to get their favorite food.
Review of Panera’s Breakfast Meals And Drinks
I have had my fair share of experiences with Panera Bread, and I can say that it is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. Most of the food is always fresh and tasty, and the prices are affordable. There are various options to choose from, including sandwiches, omelets, pastries, smoothies, and much more.
Best Panera’s Breakfast Meals
As a fan of Panera’s breakfast offerings, I have to say that the sausage, scrambled egg, and cheese sandwich on ciabatta is a real winner. The artisanal bread, baked fresh at the bakery, provides the perfect foundation for this hearty meal. The scrambled egg is fluffy, and the sausage patty is seasoned to perfection, while the addition of aged white cheddar takes it to the next level. I always add a few slices of tomato and onion for added flavor, and the crunchy ciabatta bread is the show’s true star. If you have any leftover crust, I highly recommend asking for a side of olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper to dip it in.
I’m a big fan of the creative Panera’s steel-cut oatmeal. It’s not your typical bowl of oats – it’s packed with flavor from the cinnamon crunch topping, toasted pecans, and strawberries. Plus, it’s only 370 calories and made with al dente oats, so it’s not mushy or watery. I like to add a splash of soy or coconut milk to turn it into a creamy porridge. It’s like having a fruit crumble for breakfast, but much healthier. This oatmeal is a delicious and nutritious way to kick off my day.
Their Kitchen Sink Cookie is also amazing. This cookie combines many different flavors and textures, including semi-sweet and milk chocolate, pretzels, caramel, and flaky salt. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and salty and is definitely one of the best pastries they offer. And the best part is that it’s made big enough to share with a friend or two, or you can keep it all to yourself if you want to indulge your sweet tooth.
Another breakfast serving I enjoy at Panera Bread is the blueberry muffins. These muffins are truly something special – moist and cakey, with a generous amount of plump, juicy blueberries. The crunchy cinnamon and the sugar streusel topping are the cherries on top. If you’re not a fan of blueberry, they also have delicious chocolate chip, pumpkin, and cranberry-orange muffins to choose from. Personally, I love to enjoy a warm, moist muffin with a creamy hazelnut latte on a lazy Sunday morning.
I enjoy the Bacon, Scrambled Egg, and Cheese on Ciabatta at Panera. The combination of Applewood smoked bacon and aged white cheddar is always delicious, but the ciabatta bread takes it to the next level. The added crunch and olive oil flavor stand out compared to other breakfast sandwiches. I like adding a bit of basil pesto for extra flavor, but avocado and chipotle aioli are great options for a southwestern twist. Overall, it’s a satisfying and tasty start to my day.
My least favorite Panera’s Breakfast Meals
I’m not a fan of too many calories, but a friend convinced me to try Cinnamon Crunch Bagel from Panera for breakfast. It was easy to overlook the calories. All I wanted was to have a taste of this sweet treat. However, it was a bit too sweet for my taste. The bagel was quite chewy, and the topping added overwhelming sweetness. I would not recommend this if you want a healthier breakfast option.
Another dish I have tried from Panera’s breakfast menu is the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a pleasant experience as the sausage patty was overly dry and overcooked. I couldn’t even finish the sandwich as it all fell apart in my hands. Compared to the other breakfast meals and drinks I have tried at Panera, this one wasn’t up to standard. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good breakfast meal.
Best Panera’s Breakfast Drinks
Panera Espresso Bar offers a wide selection of coffee drinks perfect for special occasions. My go-to choice? The Caramel Latte. It’s the ideal balance between a morning pick-me-up and a sweet treat. Packed with caramel syrup, caramel drizzle, and whipped cream, it’s a delicious way to start the day. While it can’t compete with the range of flavored drinks at Starbucks or other local coffee shops, Panera’s Caramel Latte is a great indulgence. It’s sweet and energizing.
If you’re in the mood for something healthy but not quite feeling a salad, I suggest trying Panera’s Green Passion Smoothie. The combination of white grape and passionfruit juices creates a sweet, candy-like flavor, but the addition of spinach makes you feel good about your choice. Remember that Panera isn’t known for its smoothies, so don’t expect a ton of fresh fruit. However, this smoothie should do the trick if you need a quick dose of greens.
Least Favorite Panera’s Breakfast Drinks
The Panra drinks have so far impressed most people, but of course, there is that one that you might want to avoid. While I enjoy hot chocolate all year round, it just seems to hit the spot more during the winter and holiday seasons. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I tried Panera Bread’s hot chocolate. It wasn’t very chocolatey, and the flavor wasn’t strong. It was more like warm milk with a hint of chocolate. The whipped cream and caramel drizzle were friendly at first, but the drink lost its appeal once they were gone. In my opinion, Panera’s hot chocolate just doesn’t cut it.
What Do Other Customers Say About Panera’s Breakfast Meals And Drinks?
Panera Bread has received positive customer reviews for its variety of menu items and consistent quality. Breakfast sandwiches and bagels have been praised for their freshness, and oatmeal is popular for its filling and nutritious qualities. The coffee has also received praise for its taste and variety, with cappuccinos and macchiatos being particular favorites.
Smoothies and juices are refreshing and flavorful options for some. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the takeaway service is efficient. However, some customers have complained of slow service or a lack of staff during busy times.
Final Thoughts!
Panera Bread Long Island is great for breakfast meals and drinks. The menu has a good variety of items, and the quality of each item is consistent. However, some of their things, such as the turkey sandwich and the steak and arugula sandwich, can be a bit of a letdown. The drink options are also limited, something you should be aware of. The staff is friendly and helpful, but there have been reports of some issues with service. If you are looking for a quick and convenient breakfast, then Panera Bread can be a good option worth considering. But choose what you eat wisely.
