The sixth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH), an American reality TV show, premiered on December 1, 2015, on Bravo. Like other RHOBH seasons, the show was mostly shot in Beverly Hills, with Barrie Bernstein, Andrew Hoegl, Pam Healy, Lisa Shannon, and Andy Cohen serving as executive producers.
The sixth season of the show, which has a total of 24 episodes, focuses on the lives of Kyle Richards, Yolanda Foster, Lisa Vanderpump, Lisa Rinna, Eileen Davidson, and new cast members: Erika Girardi and Kathryn Edwards.
This season also saw Yolanda Hadid’s final appearance and Taylor Armstrong’s final guest appearance as both original housewives, Brandi Glanville and Kim Richards, were demoted to guests.
As real-life dramas center on these wealthy women from Beverly Hills, we will take a look at the top cast, season six synopsis, and the best episodes from this reality TV series.
For the sixth season, five of the seven wives from season five returned. Kim Richards and Brandi Glanville announced shortly after the end of season five that they would not be returning as full-time cast members in season six. Glanville appeared as a guest star again in season six. On the other hand, Kim appeared on the show for the entire season and attended the reunion.
RHOBH Season six also saw the introduction of two new housewives, Erika Girardi and Kathryn Edwards, following the departure of the two housewives, Kim and Glanville. In addition to Girardi and Edwards, former cast members Camille Grammer, Taylor Armstrong, Adrienne Maloof, Faye Resnick, and Bethenny Frankel from The Real Housewives of New York City appeared in season six.
Edwards was born in Wisconsin and raised there before moving to Paris shortly after graduating from high school. Edwards went on to have a successful modeling career, appearing on several magazine covers and in Nike’s first Just Do It campaign. Edwards dabbled in acting as well, appearing in the episode Dead Men Don’t Do Aerobics of Married… with Children.
Girardi grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended North Atlanta High School for the Performing Arts. She later left her hometown at the age of eighteen to pursue her dreams of singing and dancing in New York City, later appearing in films and television productions such as High Incident, Lowball, and Alchemy.
The sixth season of RHOBH begins with Vanderpump revealing that the Los Angeles Dodgers have requested her to throw the first pitch at the LGBT game and ends up inviting A. J. Ellis to her house to practice throwing. Afterwards, with the help of her husband and Giggy, she attends the game and successfully throws the first pitch.
Davidson continues to work and visits the Young and the Restless set, where she practices her lines and gets her makeup done in preparation for filming to begin. Foster is still suffering from Lyme illness and has said that she has been staying in her and her husband’s condo because it is closer to her physicians.
Kyle and Vanderpump are having a great time zooming through Italy and taking in the peaceful countryside when family issues arise. Yolanda makes dramatic efforts to restore her health upon her return to Beverly Hills, and Eileen and Rinna are taken by surprise by her condition.
Kyle returns from her European vacation and is confronted with dreadful news concerning her sister Kim. The two Lisas fly away in a private aircraft, searching for the ideal mini-horse for Ken’s birthday present. The women are drawn to Yolanda’s friend Erika, who makes an impression on them. Vanderpump goes to her veterinarian’s clinic in an emergency. The ladies head to The Hamptons to celebrate Vanderpump’s appearance on the cover of Bella Magazine, but Lisa’s feathers are ruffled when she feels disrespected by her pals.
Kyle hosts a book signing for Bethenny Frankel at her new Hamptons pop-up shop. The ladies spend a farewell supper in the Hamptons, where Eileen reveals a prior secret. Erika picks up Yolanda on her private plane, while Kyle meets with her confidante Resnick, who provides her tips on coping with her sister Kim. Vanderpump arranges a charity event during which Rinna runs into an old friend with an interesting backstory.
Vanderpump takes a tour of Ken’s proposed new restaurant location, which turns out to be a sex store! Eileen travels to Italy to scatter her sister’s ashes. Kyle organizes a barbecue where the main menu is conflict: Kyle and Vanderpump challenge Yolanda’s assertion that her children have Lyme disease, and Kathryn confronts Resnick over a 20-year-old grudge.
The Best Episodes to Rewatch
As always, fun, excitement, and gossip pervade the rare air of Beverly Hills. Each episode takes viewers inside the realm of extravagant luxury and luxurious privilege, where being seen and who you know matters more than anything else.
Below are some of the best episodes from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season six.
The M Word: S06, E04
Rinna is known for her amusing remarks, but she went too far this time. The ladies begin to talk after Yolanda, who is suffering from Lyme Disease, takes a step back from the group. Rinna believes that Yolanda wasn’t as sick as she claimed, so she uses the term “Munchhausen” – a self-inflicted factitious disorder that occurs when someone attempts to get attention and sympathy by exaggerating an illness.
Lymes in the Sand: S06, E17
Yolanda wins a Lyme disease awareness award at a glamorous gala in New York, dispelling Kyle’s worries regarding Yolanda’s sickness. Days later, the women travel to Dubai to try and fit in with a society that requires them to dress modestly and refrain from cursing. After admiring the city and their magnificent hotel rooms, the women gathered for an evening filled with doubts from Rinna, who did not attend the gala.
Dubai Daze: S06, E18
After a long day of travel, the ladies are eager to discover what Dubai has to offer. They drive across the sand dunes, shop at the local souk market, and have a classic Arabian Nights dinner made from meat from animals they didn’t think were edible. Even though Yolanda remained in Beverly Hills, there are still remaining feelings from the Munchausen debacle, which leaves some ladies feeling abandoned.
Reunion (Part 1): S06, E21
Yolanda opens the reunion by describing the hardships she endures when relapsing with Lyme disease. Although she leaves the couch early, Yolanda remains long enough to defend her daughter against Brandi’s “alcoholic” remark and to try to bring some peace to the group. On the other hand, Kim declares that she has more pride than Rinna in the jobs she picks, while Brandi and Vanderpump argue, implying that their once-close friendship has no future.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills gives viewers a look inside the world of lavish affluence and pampered privilege. The Housewives embark on luxurious vacations and have heated disputes that can only be seen on the reality TV show. However, an affluent lifestyle comes with a lot of trouble and drama.
