Why Wendy's Summer Strawberry Salad Is Just So Good!

Not everyone loves salads. Most people who go to fast food restaurants are not ordering salads. I think that’s a pretty safe argument to make. Nonetheless, there are many people who do visit fast food restaurants and only order salads. Some of these visitors are simply friends or family members tagging along who do not want to eat any fast food and just simply order a salad to pretty much just eat something and not be rude. However, there is a percentage of the population that makes it a point to visit fast food restaurants to only order salads. Of course one of the reasons for this is it’s pretty fast to get one. If you are on limited time because of a lunch break or on your way to an appointment, it’s pretty helpful to get a fast food salad at the drive-in.

In a recent article when we compared McDonald’s to Wendy’s, the legendary fast food chain McDonald’s pretty much destroyed Wendy’s in every single category except for two. One of those categories was salads. Hands down, Wendy’s makes the best salads in the fast food business. McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, or any other fast-food chain just can’t compare to Wendy’s fresh salads. Year-round, Wendy’s hosts a handful of different salad choices. However, it’s during the summer months as of recent times, in when Wendy’s brings back their Summer Strawberry Salad that we give great praise to the fast-food Giant in the sky. Without argument, Wendy’s Summer Strawberry Salad is the best fast food salad we have ever tasted. Here’s why.

# 1 – Fresh Lettuce

A great salad starts with fresh ingredients, and Wendy’s gets high marks in this department. You won’t find any brown lettuce in Wendy’s salads. If the lettuce is not fresh, then it doesn’t matter what else you put in a salad because the lettuce is your base and it’s got to be good. It’s really good at Wendy’s.

# 2 – Chicken

The chicken that Wendy’s puts in this salad is incredibly fresh. It seems to be the same chicken that they put on their grilled chicken sandwich but it actually tastes better in the salad than it does on the sandwich. The grilled chicken is warm and tender when you receive it at purchase. Of course, Wendy’s lets you choose their spicy chicken instead if you prefer, but we would argue that you’re good to go with the grilled chicken that’s placed in this amazing salad.

# 3 – The Strawberries

This is where the salad especially shines. The strawberries that are used in the Summer Strawberry Salad are amazingly fresh. They’re soft, tender, sweet, and almost seem like they’ve been marinated in a sugar sauce. There is no bitterness at all in these wonderful strawberries.

# 4 – The Dressing

As we all know, a dressing can make a break or a salad. Wendy’s has picked the perfect dressing for their Summer Strawberry Salad. The restaurant chain uses its sensational champagne vinaigrette dressing to perfectly bring out the flavors of the cheese strawberries and chicken that will just make you so happy.

# 5 – The Bacon

Wendy’s knows how to cook their bacon perfectly. They use it on many of their products most specifically their bacon cheeseburgers which are really good. They use bacon also in their baked potatoes and other items. However, the bacon that sits in the salad is just perfectly cooked as always with that smoked apple flavor.

# 6 – The Cheese

In the salad are very thin slices of cheese that really add flavor to the meal. Wendys labels the cheese as an Italian Cheese Blend. No matter what they call it, the Italian Cheese Blends perfectly in combination with the other ingredients.

# 7 – The Final Topping

The only other ingredient in Wendy’s Summer Strawberry Chicken Salad that does not come already mixed into the salad bowl beside the dressing, is the candied almonds. This is just the perfect final topping to throw over the salad. The candied almonds come in a small little bag that at times can be difficult to open possibly because you’re just so hungry and you can’t wait to dig into the salad especially if you’ve already had it and you know just how good it is.

If you have never had the Wendy’s Summer Strawberry Chicken Salad we highly recommend you give it a try. The freshness can’t be beaten, but in the end, it’s about the flavor, and this one just tastes so good! Its better that any other fast food salad we have ever eaten.
