When it comes to quality hotels at a good price, it’s hard to beat a Holiday Inn. The one in Plattsburgh is no exception. Located on Route 3 right next to the entrance and exits of the New York State Northway, the Plattsburgh Holiday Inn is one of the finest hotels you can stay at in the city. It’s not the cheapest but it’s also not the most expensive, it’s right in between. Of course, prices go up and down depending on what time of the year you want to stay there and even what day of the week. Nonetheless, it’s well worth spending maybe a few extra dollars to stay there. Here’s why……
Room Size
I have stayed in multiple different style rooms at the hotel including singles with a king or doubles with two queens and all the rooms I have stayed at have been spacious and comfortable. There’s ample room to move between the queen beds. There is desk space all around, and plenty of space between the beds and the dressers.
Cleanliness
Plattsburgh’s Holiday Inn ranks right up there as one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in Plattsburgh, if not the cleanest. You notice it right away when you walk in the lobby. Even the elevators is perfectly clean. It may seem odd to bring that up but I’ve stayed in some hotels up in Plattsburgh where you walk into an elevator and you’re thinking let me get out of this as soon as possible. The lobby, the elevator, and the hallways are Hospital clean. Of course, what’s more important is the room. I have never had an issue with cleanliness in the rooms at the Plattsburgh Holiday Inn.
Comfort
If you’re staying at a hotel transfer pretty high that you’re traveling. If you’re traveling chances are even higher that you’re tired, you are sore and you need rest. There’s nothing worse than trying to get to sleep on an uncomfortable bed. Fortunately for people staying at the Holiday Inn in Plattsburgh that is never an issue. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The sheets are always clean and there are plenty of pillows on each bed. As someone who works out of hotels, it’s very important for me to have a nice chair and desk to work at. Every single time I have stayed at the Holiday Inn in Plattsburgh, I have spent time in the room with a large table with plenty of electrical outlets and a quality lamp. More importantly, the chairs they supply are high quality, comfortable and adjustable. The rooms also come complete with a large 55-inch HD Samsung television that looks great. You can adjust the angle of the tv based on where you are sitting in the room.
Breakfast
Here is where the Holiday Inn in Plattsburgh really shines. For me as well as many other people. breakfast is probably the most important meal of the day. Just about every Hotel you stay out in Plattsburgh offers free breakfast. Of course, it’s not really free as you are paying for it in the price of the room. Yet it’s a nice selling point for hotels trying to compete against each other on places like hotels.com. They all need to do it. And there are some that do actually make you pay extra for it.

Hands down the breakfast at the Holiday Inn at Plattsburgh is the best in the city. Best Western is pretty close but I think I like the Holiday Inn’s breakfast better. It’s not just about the variety that they offer, it’s the quality of the food that they serve. The sausage tastes better than any other hotel’s sausage in the area. They serve omelets with cheese and they are so good. I have often seen French toast served at the hotel which you never see in any other hotels. They have warm pastries that are heads and tails above the pastries are all the other hotels. Most other hotels just have factory muffins in a bag for breakfast or dessert. The Holiday Inn’s pastries are out of this world. Of course, the coffee is very important and the Holiday Inn in Plattsburgh serves Fresh smooth, and never-burned coffee. The woman who works there really cares about what she does. She is incredibly friendly and hard-working at serving at making sure the guests are served a really good breakfast.

Service
Everyone is friendly at the Holiday Inn. I have always been bad by the smiling person at the front desk who is always willing to answer requests I have. They have a pool, a gym, and plenty of parking. The only issue is you can’t pull directly into the hotel because of its proximity to the entrance and exit of the Northway. You have to drive maybe about 100 yards past the hotel and make a left onto a side street that will bring you to the entranceway of the hotel. There is a sign on Route 3 that shows you where to go.
They work hard in this hotel and seem to be very proud of offering a nice clean environment for people to stay in. In the end, if you are looking for a clean, quality hotel that won’t break the bank to stay at in Plattsburgh, the Holiday Inn at Plattsburgh should be one of your top choices.
