# 1 – Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana
Pizza lovers, we have a spoiler alert for you; while all the other options on our list deserve a spot, we had to put Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana at the top. The story of how this place became one of the best pizza places in the country is as heartwarming as their delicious wood-fired pizzas. Settebello was founded in 2005 by Marco Antonelli, who was born and raised in Treviso, Italy.
When he came to the States, he realized there was a huge pizza void. While there were plenty of options, they didn’t come close to the authentic pizzas he was used to backing home. So, he set out on a mission to change that. After perfecting his craft, Antonelli opened Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana, and they have been serving up some of the best pies in the country ever since.
They even have a certification from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, the governing body that ensures pizza places make authentic Neapolitan pizzas. That means their pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit, giving the pies that perfect char. And they only use the freshest ingredients, like San Marzano tomatoes and mozzarella di bufala. You have to give Settebello a try to believe it.
